Rubber Horses pays tribute to

Nevada, home to the largest population
of wild horses in the US,

and to the inevitable drive out to Burning Man,

or any highway for that matter,

in which we witness discarded tire tread littering all highways.

These tire scraps (from the New Jersey Turnpike)
are what make up the exterior of the three horses;
their skeletons are made of rebar and reinforced metal.
